Easy Chicken Cacciatore
Make this delicious and easy Chicken Cacciatore in your slow cooker this week. Cook up a pot of whole wheat pasta and you'll have a healthy, low fat nutritious meal to serve your hungry family.
Ingredients:
1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
3 lbs boneless/skinless thighs and breasts
fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
2 Watkins bay leaves
1 (8oz) can stewed tomatoes
Watkins black pepper to taste
1 tsp Watkins Italian Seasoning
1 tsp Watkins garlic granules
2 cups boiling water
2 teaspoons Watkins chicken soup base
freshly grated parmesan or romano cheese, for garnish
Instructions: Place sliced onions at bottom of crock pot. Add chicken and mushrooms. Stir together remaining ingredients (except cheese) and pour over chicken. Cook on low 7-9 hours or high 3-4 hours. Serve chicken, mushrooms and sauce over pasta of your choice, garnish with freshly grated cheese and add a green salad for a well rounded meal.
