Scarborough Fair All-Organic Chicken
Another chicken dish but this one calls for all organic foods! I always look for organic produce when I shop. The North American consumer's demand for organic products is a growing trend. You may have noticed that many supermarkets are expanding their organic selections to include fruits, vegetables, meat, and poultry. While many people spend extra money to buy organic products, when they cook them, they add spices that are not. Fortunately Watkins, known around the world for its quality spices and flavorings, offers a line of USDA certified 100% organic herbs and spices to fill that need.
Ingredients
4 organic chicken breast halves (with bone and skin)
1 tsp Watkins Organic Parsley
1 tsp Watkins Organic Sage
1 tsp Watkins Organic Rosemary
1 tsp Watkins Organic Thyme
2 tsp Watkins Organic Garlic Powder
Freshly-ground Sea Salt and Watkins Organic Black Pepper, to taste
Cooking Directions: Preheat oven to 375°F. Loosen the skin on chicken breasts to create pockets, mix herbs and rub beneath and on top of skin. Season chicken with salt and pepper, place skin side up in a glass baking dish and bake 30 minutes or until the chicken's internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove chicken breasts from the oven, preheat broiler and broil 3 minutes or until the skin is nicely browned.
Serves 4.
Note: If you are watching your fat and calories this can be made with skinless chicken breasts, just omit browning the chicken under the broiler.
