Spring Cleaning

It's that time of the year again, time to give everything in your home a good deep clean. Some people actually enjoy spring cleaning, if you don't here are a few tips to help make it more fun.

First you have to get in the mood! Pick one of your favorite CDs and get the music going.  Do you feel the beat? You might be surprised at how the right music will help put you in the cleaning mood.

Use those chores to get some additional exercise! Do some knee bends as you clean and polish the coffee tables. Take out your vacuum. Put on a dance CD and walk the moon walk as you vacuum your carpets. Reach, stretch and bend. Do the hustle as you tidy the kid's rooms.

Dance your way back to the kitchen and pour yourself a long tall glass of iced tea.  You deserve it. Spring cleaning never felt so good!

The Homemaker Helper's offers some suggestions for your Spring Cleaning List

  1. Windows - take down the drapes or curtains and dust the blinds. Wash the windows inside and out, don't forget the frames and casings. Next, wash the curtains, iron if needed and rehang.
  2. Walls - wash the walls, start at the bottom and work your way up to-wards the ceiling, this will prevent the water and cleaner from dripping down making clean streaks or lines.
  3. Ceilings - dust for cobwebs and then wash.
  4. Floors - move all the furniture in each room so you can clean the floors behind and underneath everything to evict the dust bunnies and other things hiding there. Vacuum the carpets, sweep and mop hard floor surfaces. Take area rugs outdoors and give them a good shake.
You'll find the rest of the to do list as well as the cleaning supplies you'll need along with their other Homemaking tips and tricks here.

Good suggestion! Sometimes there's only time to give things a lick and a promise but any time is a good time to give everything a deep cleaning.

Argh.... Spring cleaning is crazy in my line of work. I wish that people would decide to keep their homes a little cleaner through the winter instead of needing my services so badly in the spring... although it is good money=).
